12/21/2002 - ONE FIFTH!!
The fan comic contest is closed. You can still send in a screen capture though. I've caught up with all the emails and movie send outs so I'm good on that angle. As always, if you sent in a screen capture and haven't recieved your movie, I will solve your problem.

By the way, what did you get me for Christmas? So far, nothing has arrived for me. I hope you're not waiting until the very last minute to send something out...

12/20/2002 - The Final Hour
At last, my vacation and break time is nearly at hand. You'll still get regular news updates from me, as well as the winners of the fan comic contest and a few Mana Xmas specials. There are some really good contest entries waiting to be posted. And maybe there are some more to be sent in! Hurry!

Oh, and speaking of Mana Xmas specials, here is A Mana Xmas 02. It's sort of blasphemous to two different religous sects at the same time!

12/19/2002 - Would You Like Swords With That?
Well, for starters, some of you may have noticed that on Tuesday, I did not actually post Episode 50. That's right, FOOL YOU! It was Special Edition 10: Hooray For Fifty. It was sort of a precelebration for todays post, Episode 50: The Hard Truth. It's nice to celebrate, but this is a fairly serious episode, or at least it tries to be.

There's been a lot of drama in the forum recently, a good portion of it my fault. I just want to let everyone know that the forum won't be shut down, but it will be undergoing some changes and some guidelines will be implemented. Thanks to everyone who sent in a fan comic for the contest. The last minute is closely closing in on you, so wrap up those entries and send 'em in.

12/17/2002 - THAT'S ALOTTA NUTS!
Just a quick reminder about the fan comic contest. It loves you, why won't you love it? It ends soon, so be sure to send in your entry.

And of course, here is Episode 50: The Moment Of Truth. Enjoy, miene lieblings.

12/16/2002 - It Was GREEN! GREEN I TELL YOU!!
Did you know that SoMT is 7 months old? I wonder what 7 months old in webcomic years is equal to in people years? When does my webcomic reach it's sexual peak? Is it already time to settle down with a little female webcomic somewhere in the webcomic suburbs (keenspace?) where they will have 2.5 webcomic children and a webcomic dog? Maybe I should sleep more often before doing these posts?

I was bored and I felt like flexing my Photoshopping plummage, so I whipped up A Mana Xmas 01. I'll probably do a few more of these before the season is over.

By the way, thanks to all the fans who send me email. It's one of the few things that keep me going, although the one guy who emailed me... his subject read "pictures of my sister," and clearly his email had no such attachment. If you love me, don't do this to me as I'm easily excitable and quite gullible at times. :D However, said pictures WOULD make good xmas presents for your favorite webcomic author...

12/14/2002 - Yea, I'm A Little Ticked
Here is what I was too tired to say yesterday:

Someone I don't know has been chatting up one of my lovely albeit filthy assistants. Basically, he thinks I'm a hypocrite. He wants to know how I can say that I am not all about the votes when I have a contest that is in direct relation to votes?

I never make the contest something I feel is unreachable or unobtainable. I started this month saying "send a screen cap of the top three". Well, when the voting war started and my spot slipped, I changed the contest to read top five (See: 12/9/02). What good is the bonus movie if I can't send it to people!? The reason I hold the contest is to get people involved in the site and the comic. To make the fans a part of SoMT and to share extras to those who participate. Ask anyone who has forgotten to include the attachment, or messed up their entry in some way; they still got the movie in their mailbox.

I like it when you Vote for SoMT or take part in the contests, but if you didn't I would still make the bonus movie available to people who take an active part in the comic. Giving to and interacting with my fans is what I care about; the votes are an inconsequential byproduct of that.

Would it make you feel better, Mr. Guy, if I made the contest open to anyone who took a screen capture? Speaking of which, another comic has come out of the blue to join the top ranks at TWC, which means I've dropped to 6th. The December contest now reflects that. Hmm, I guess they don't really matter.

12/13/2002 - FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH
Still tired. Post short. Hulk smash.

New fan art. Good stuff. Megamanxco and Sean. Hulk thanks.

Tomorrow. I rant. Change contest. Now? Hulk crash.

12/12/2002 - Running On Empty
Do you notice anything different? No, you don't. But beneath the surface, SoMT now has it's own server! A server of it's very own. It's even named Thanatos. Thanks and shouts go to JT at Myrmid. Give the man some love!

I have two things for you today. I'm tired... I have finals... I'm swamped at work...

First, there is a new contest posted. It's a fan comic contest. Finally a chance to see your name up in lights. I'm going to be taking some time off soon and I don't want to leave you hanging, so hopefully you'll be able to enjoy some wacky mana antics sent in by your peers.

Second, Episode 49: Choices. This episode marks the beginning of a more serious storyline, so a little less humor and a little more drama. Also, 49 episodes! All right! 50 is right around the corner! Talk about totally cool.

12/10/2002 - Trah-bah-hARRRRR
Recently, one of my friends was in a near death car accident. Bad driving conditions, busy street, yadda yadda (NOT yatta), some how the car righted itself, and everyone is all right, if not shaken. Now this is a friend whose face I haven't seen in a while, a good couple of months, and she only lives 20 minutes away. We could have gotten together any old time, but we both kept putting it off. Plenty of time later, right?

Fortunately, there will be time later to hang out, but in a a different reality, with a heartbeat of difference, it might not have been so. Remember to tell your friends you care about them, and if you haven't seen them in a while, tell them you miss them. It will mean a lot to them, I assure you.

In comic news, the December contest is still going strong. Now, you may have noticed I'm hawking the contest quite a bit this month, but that's because the bonus movie is really good and really worth having. And of course, since it's Tuesday, Episode 48: The Name Game. Behold my beautiful water!

P.S. If there is an Easter Egg in this movie, which there isn't, and you don't understand it, then you haven't checked out my links.

12/09/2002 - Sorry 'Bout That
I know yesterday's post was a little preachy and all, so sorry about that. I just wanted to convey to whoever might read this that fighting with other comics is silly. We gotta stick together if we ever intend to oust paper comics off the face of the planet!

Well, two more episodes this week, and maybe I'll throw up the new contest this week.

Eww. I didn't mean it like that. Not THROWING UP, but rather, I'll post the new contest this week. I also have some fan art to post too. If you missed it yesterday, I've changed this month's contest to read Top Five to allow more people to get their entries in.

12/08/02 - Where's The Love?
I think it's time to weigh in on some things. For starters, Pupkin. A lot of other people out there hate Pupkin and a lot of them love it. Some say it's badly drawn, some say it's like a performance art, but really, I think people take this a little too seriously. We all have different tastes, and if Pupkin is not your cup of tea, well, that's fine. If you love Pupkin, that's fine too.

Recently, Mall Monkey's had a comic parodying/ripping on some of the comic styles of some of the top ranking strips on TWC. Is this necessary? I mean, do you take your ranking at TWC so seriously that you have to resort to calling other styles crappy? For f$#@'s sake, people, it's just a comic, we're just trying to entertain people. Lighten up, let's just be friends and call it a day.

There is a comic somewhere on the TWC that has a caption that partially reads, "Flash drawn comics are for losers. So are sprites..." Can you, author of said comic, really hate me because I make a comic with Flash and sprites? Am I somehow less artistic or creative than you for the medium I use? I don't want to fight with other comics and wage flame wars against them. All I want to do is make comics that entertain people, and I think some have forgotten that this is the reason why they started making their comic too.

Because some of the other comics have waged a voting war of sorts at TWC, I've been usurped in the rankings because of these fights. Since I don't really want to wage a war and make a problem, I've changed this month's contest to read Top Five as a sign of good faith. Please, Vote for Secret of Mana Theater if you want to, but please, if you're a fan, don't start a holy war in my name.

If you don't like that, well, then that's just too darn bad. I didn't make the rules, I just play by them.
